Strong Performances at the 2026 Australian Championships

Fundamental Athletic Development athletes produced some outstanding performances at the 2026 Australian Open Championships and Australian Under-20 Combined Events Championships in Sydney.

Andy – Open Men’s Pole Vault

Andy achieved a new personal best of 4.95m in the Open Men’s Pole Vault, finishing 12th in Australia.

It was a fantastic performance on the national stage, bringing him within just five centimetres of the 5.00m milestone.

Will – Under-20 Decathlon

Will finished 14th in the Australian Under-20 Decathlon, recording an overall personal best of 5,333 points.

Across the two-day competition, Will achieved an impressive six individual personal bests.

  • 100m – 11.66 PB

  • Long Jump – 5.67m

  • Shot Put – 10.94m

  • High Jump – 1.67m PB

  • 400m – 57.42 PB

  • 110m Hurdles – 16.87 PB

  • Discus – 35.72m PB

  • Pole Vault – 3.70m

  • Javelin – 42.60m PB

  • 1500m – 5:55.08

Competing at an Australian Championship is a major achievement, and both athletes represented the squad exceptionally well.
